A bore gauge is a collective term for the tools that are unique to the process of accurately measuring holes.
Setting Rings are required for Bore Gage calibration. Purchasing setting rings can become expensive and often times more than the cost of the gage.
This is why most companies send their Bore Gages to an outside calibration company.
